The aircraft later climbed to 5000 and 10,000 feet and diverted to London Gatwick,EN (UK) for a safe landing on runway 26L about 90 minutes after departure. The flight BY-4660 from London Gatwick was upgraded from a Boeing 737-800 to a Wamos Air Airbus A330-300 registration EC-NTY and reached Rhodes with a delay of about 7 hours (for BY-6624) and about 5:50 hours (BY-4660). The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Gatwick about 28 hours after landing. A ground resident reported the aircraft sounded like a propeller aircraft as it passed overhead. https://avherald.com/h?article=4fe1c7cb&opt=0 Incident: Lufthansa Cityline CRJ9 near Hamburg on Sep 9th 2022, hydraulic problems A Lufthansa Cityline Canadair CRJ-900, registration D-ACNG performing flight LH-2184 from Munich to Sylt (Germany) with 77 people on board, was descending through about FL150 when the crew set course to divert to Hamburg (Germany) reporting hydraulic problems. The aircraft landed safely on Hamburg's runway 15 about 20 minutes later. The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Hamburg about 17 hours after landing. https://avherald.com/h?article=4fe0c611&opt=0 Incident: Singapore B773 near Baku on Sep 9th 2022, engine oil leak A Singapore Boeing 777-300, registration 9V-SWV performing flight SQ-333 (dep Sep 8th) from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Singapore (Singapore) with 229 passengers and 18 crew, was enroute at FL330 about 220nm south of Baku (Azerbaijan) when the crew decided to divert to Baku reporting an engine (GE90) oil leak. The aircraft landed safely on Baku's runway 34 about 40 minutes later. The airline confirmed an engine oil leak as cause of the diversion. A replacement aircraft is going to be dispatched to Baku. A replacement aircraft has not yet landed in Baku about 17 hours after the occurrence aircraft landed in Baku. The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Baku about 17 hours after landing. https://avherald.com/h?article=4fe04a16&opt=0 Incident: Atlanta B744 at Liege on Sep 8th 2022, dropped engine exhaust An Air Atlanta Boeing 747-400 freighter, registration TF-AMC performing flight CC-320 from Liege (Belgium) to Malta (Malta), was climbing out of Liege's runway 22L, turned right and overflew Waremme (Belgium) at about 6000-9000 feet at about 23:43L (21:43Z). The aircraft continued to climb to FL330 and landed in Malta without further incident about 2:20 hours later. The aircraft is still on the ground in Malta about 20 hours after landing in Malta. Residents in Waremme were woken by huge noise around midnight (the police reported they perceived the time between 00:30 and 01:00L) and discovered what appeared to be an aircraft part from the engine in their garden, which had impacted and damaged the roof of their house and subsequently fell into their garden. The Airport of Liege reported an Air Atlanta Boeing 747-400 lost part of aircraft engine cover. Radar data show a second possible candidate based on the time line given by the residents. TF-AMM performing flight CC-4400 from Liege to Atlanta,GA (USA) was climbing through about 4000 feet over Waremme at 00:37L (22:37Z) and continued to Atlanta, however, was able to continue the flight schedule and departed for the return flight on schedule. https://avherald.com/h?article=4fe047da&opt=0 Incident: Transat A321 at Calgary on Aug 29th 2022, both engines show excess EGT An Air Transat Airbus A321-200, registration C-GEZN performing flight TS-865 from Calgary,AB to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 189 people on board, was climbing out of Calgary's runway 17L when both left and right hand engines (CFM56) showed "ENG1 EGT OVER LIMIT" and "ENG2 EGT OVER LIMIT". The crew stopped the climb at about 9500 feet and reduced thrust which extinguished the ENG1 EGT OVER LIMIT, the right hand engine remained over EGT limit. The crew decided to reduce the right hand engine to idle thrust, declared PAN PAN and returned to Calgary for a safe landing on runway 17L about 30 minutes after departure. The two pilots onboard sustained minor injuries. The aircraft was likely operated by Strategic Airborne Operations, a joint vernture between Aery and Mountain Aviation LLC, on an electronic warfare exercise mission on behalf of the U.S. Navy. Weather was poor at the time of the accident. The jet, a Cessna Citation 680, contacted the airport at about 7 a.m., indicating a problem with its front landing gear, according to airport spokesman Joe Rajchel. Rajchel said the private jet landed with both its rear legs properly activated at about 8 a.m. on runway 19L as emergency services stood by. “Two persons were aboard and there were no injuries,” Rajchel said. The plane was towed to a fixed base operator for inspection at about 11:30 a.m., Rajchel said.
